Warm Up Ōtaki  Whakamahana Ōtaki

Helping homes look after families.

So many of us live in gappy, under-insulated houses, affecting our health and wealth.

Warm Up Ōtaki is for everyone with a Community Services Card,

whether you rent or own your home.

Together, we can make your home look after you and your whānau better.

  • When is the next bike giveaway?
Giveaways are now held around every six weeks at Ōtaki College. Here are details of our next session. This is also a chance to drop off bikes you no longer want. We gratefully accept bikes with little or no rust, needing only a little TLC.
  • When is your next volunteers' session?
We welcome all volunteers - no bike or bike fixing experience necessary. Volunteer fix-it days are within 10am to 2pm, as suits you. Saturday, 6th September Saturday, 18th October Interested? Please email Kirsty at otakibikespace@gmail.com.
  • Can anyone get a bike? Is it free?
    Yes! Koha is appreciated.
  • Do you want my bike? Where can I drop it off?
Is your bike in pretty good condition? Needing no or only minor repairs? Then yes please. Please note that we are now receiving bike donations during our 6-weekly giveaway days. Please bring your bike down to Ōtaki College (turn left once inside the gate) between 11am-1pm on Saturday 6th September. Ngā mihi nui!
  • I'm not sure if my bike is in good enough condition. How do I find out?
If you think your bike might need more than a minor repair, please send us a photo or a description of it. That will help determine if it is worth repairing salvaging for parts or sending to recycling. Email Kirsty at: otakibikespace@gmail.com
  • Do I have to know how to repair bikes to volunteer?
No! There's a job for everyone.
Ngā mihi to Warm Up Ōtaki's funders and sponsors.
