Maranga Mai - Everyone needs a home!

Māoriland presents a three-part series showcasing local solutions by local communities on big issues.

Inspired by the kaupapa of sustainability, we ask the question to inspire people in our communities about how we use our unique strengths and skills to create change from the ground up. In the face of global harm to Papatūānuku, high rents, post-pandemic lows and wars abroad - how do we look after each other, while we look after the planet?

Join us as we hear from local movers and shakers about their creative ideas and projects, and get inspired to take action on something new, together.

Over a hundred thousand people in Aotearoa are experiencing homelessness, yet the news no longer talks about the housing crisis, and the issue feels too big to fix. But everyone needs a home to build their lives from.

Here in Ōtaki, local whānau have created their own community solutions to an ongoing problem. We will hear their stories and start to write our own one, together. Join host Kassie Hartendorp from ActionStation and local community movers and shakers Adi Leason and more.

Energise Ōtaki is proud to be part of supporting Maranga Mai through the Whakahiko Ōtaki–Energise Ōtaki Fund.
